Activity types: Bring old clothes, use your skills as a seamstress or artists to make new garments, help the event run smoother by being a tour guide, or organize a Swap-O-Rama-Rama in your town

Time Required: One afternoon

Skilled Required: None, however, if you know how to sew you can be a featured artist at the event

Attire: Anything, and I mean absolutely anything

The Goods: You have to do Swap-O-Rama-Rama at least once cause I guarentee you will never find another experience like it. Most likely you will also leave the Swap with some pretty cool custom maid clothes.

Activity types: Plant trees, organize tree plantings, become a planting supervisor

Time Required: One morning or as often as you would like

Skills Required: Ability to dig holes and get muddy

Attire: “Getting dirty clothes”, Long pants, Closed toe shoes

The Goods: Those thinking about switching careers to a “green” field or spending more time gardening should run not walk to a TreePeople event. The instruction on planting, organizing and environmental stewardship is excellent. What I’m saying is, “Serious training for a new career – do not miss this opportunity!”

Activity types: Coastal Cleanups, Stream Restoration, Water Quality Testing

Time Required: Water testing is a once a month and you will also have a few days of on the “job” training. Restorations and cleanups usually start with a quick orientation that lasts a few minutes. You can do restorations and cleanups once or as often as you like.

Skills Required: Small amount of grace (physical), Common sense, Love of dirt a plus

Attire: Old Jeans, T-shirts, Layers, Closed toe shoes. The beach clean ups can be warm, but also dirty so dress in layers and be ready to strip.

The Goods: Bring friends on cleanups and restorations. Bring your adventurous side for water testing.
